For the second consecutive year, a group of anglers returned to Eddy’s Resort on Mille Lacs Lake for another weekend of ice fishing and camaraderie. The previous visit had focused on targeting walleyes, and in true Mille Lacs fashion, the bite was strong—mark a fish, drop a line, and success followed almost instantly. This year, however, the lake demanded more effort.
Instead of an easy walleye bite, the group encountered countless fingerling fish, a promising indicator of the fishery’s future health. While walleye remained a target, the focus shifted to the jumbo perch bite, which has recently been a hot topic on Mille Lacs. The shift paid off—the perch were aggressive, the action was steady, and one standout moment came when a personal-best jumbo perch hit topside, making the trip even more memorable.

Staying at Eddy’s Resort
During the previous trip, the group stayed in one of Eddy’s cozy lakeside cabins, which provided a comfortable and scenic retreat. This time, they opted for the hotel. A clean king room and king suite, ensuring everyone had a relaxing place to unwind after long days on the ice.
One of the resort’s highlights was the parlor room—a relaxing space perfect for unwinding, editing photos and videos, and reminiscing about the day’s best moments. Equipped with a large TV, a small bar, and even a bathroom, the setup provided an ideal spot to kick back and get some work done.

The Extras: Gift Shop, Shuttle Service & The Launch Restaurant
Eddy’s Resort features a well-stocked gift shop, making it easy for guests to pick up any forgotten essentials. Whether it’s extra jigs, lures, apparel, or last-minute gear, the shop ensures anglers are well-prepared for their time on the ice.

For those looking to unwind after a day of fishing, Eddy’s offers a shuttle service to the nearby casino, where guests can relax in the pool or hot tub or try their luck on the casino floor.
Beyond the casino, the resort is just minutes from multiple lake access points and bait shops, providing convenient options for anglers to stock up on supplies. On this trip, the group stopped at Garrison Sports Shop for bait, a trusted spot for local fishing gear.
No visit to Eddy’s is complete without a meal at The Launch, the on-site restaurant. With a delicious menu, every dish tasted fresh and homemade—a perfect way to warm up and refuel after hours on the frozen lake.
With another successful trip in the books, Eddy’s Resort once again proved to be the perfect setting for unforgettable ice fishing adventures, great company, and lasting memories.
